1. Loud Water Filter: Resulting from Water Pump Malfunction
One of the main reasons why water filters make loud noises is because the system is pushing air outwards. This air appears due to weak water supply and insufficient force to push it into the filter system. Weak water supply can originate from a faulty pump or a valve not fully opened.
- Solution:
Firstly, you need to check if the valve is fully open. If it's already at its maximum, check if the screws on the pump are tightened or replace them. If you still hear sputtering noises, there might be air in the pump head, which needs to be released. After performing these steps, if the issue of loud noises persists, the equipment might be faulty and require replacement.

2. Water Filter Making Loud Noises: Due to Clogged Filter
If a newly purchased water filter is making loud noises, the main reason is often trapped air inside the filter or the new membrane. For older filters, loud noises can be caused by accumulated dirt inside the motor. This prevents the weak water supply from reaching the filter membrane, and when there is strong pressure, it creates noise.
- Solution:
The loud noises from a newly purchased water filter will gradually decrease and disappear after a few days of use. Additionally, you can release the pressure tank 1 - 2 times to expel the trapped air. If the issue persists, you can check the inlet valve and water pump for any problems.
When using an old water filter, you need to check how long it has been since you last replaced the filter cartridge. Users should replace the cartridge regularly to address the issue of the water filter making loud noises and to ensure better performance.

To resolve this issue, you need to completely eliminate air from the valve following the steps below:
Step 1: Firstly, you need to close the valve of the water filter's pressure tank.
Step 2: Place an object under the third filter cartridge to tilt the water filter towards the right side. This will help air to quickly escape from the valve.
Step 3: Proceed to turn on the water filter and let the water flow for about 1 minute. This action helps to push air out through the faucet.
Step 4: Turn off the machine for about 10 seconds and then repeat step 3 once more. Then, repeat this process about 3 - 4 times until the water filter stops making loud noises.
Improperly closed valves will cause air to become trapped inside, resulting in the water filter making loud noises.
4. Water Filter Making Whirring Noises: RO Membrane Clogged
After prolonged use of RO water filters, dirt will accumulate over time, clogging the RO membrane of the water filter, causing less filtered water and an increasing amount of wastewater. At this point, you need to recall and check when was the last time you replaced the RO membrane and cartridges 1, 2, 3. One of the main reasons for the RO membrane clogging is users not regularly replacing cartridges 1, 2, 3.

5. Unusual Clanking Noises from Water Filter: Due to Uneven Placement
