1. What is Picture-in-Picture on iPhone?
Picture-in-Picture, also known as PiP, first appeared on iPad with iOS 13. With iOS 14, this feature also made its way to iPhone, allowing users to watch videos or make Facetime calls in a small window while using other apps such as browsing Facebook, surfing the web, reading news, and more.

2. Supported Apps for Picture-in-Picture Feature
- Licensed video streaming apps like Apple TV+, Netflix, Disney+, VieOn, Youtube Premium, and more.

- The default Facetime app on iPhone.
- Most videos viewed on browsers, excluding Youtube.
3. How to Enable or Disable Picture-in-Picture Mode
Method 1: Automatically Enable/Disable Picture-in-Picture
- Step 1: Go to Settings > General.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Picture-in-Picture section and Enable Automatic PiP.

Note: To enable PiP, slide the switch to green; similarly, to disable, slide it to gray.
Automatic Picture-in-Picture mode allows the video window to automatically appear when you exit full-screen view to the main screen.

When you no longer want the video window to appear, tap on the window, then press the “x” icon in the top-left corner.

Method 2: Manually Enable/Disable Picture-in-Picture
If you've already disabled the automatic Picture-in-Picture feature, you can still enable Picture-in-Picture video windows manually using the following method:
While watching a movie or fullscreen video, tap on the cross-arrow icon as shown below.

When you no longer want the video window to appear, tap on the “x” icon in the top-left corner.

4. Notable Features of Picture-in-Picture on iOS 14
- Resize Window
The Picture-in-Picture window on iPhone can be resized to suit your usage needs. To resize the window, use two fingers to spread apart the video window to enlarge it.

Similarly, to shrink it, pinch two fingers together.

- Moving the Video Window to Various Positions on the Screen
Touch with 1 finger on the video window and move its position up, down, left, or right on the iPhone screen as desired and most convenient for usage.

- Playing Video in Background
If you temporarily don't want to watch the video but still want to hear the audio from the video on the Picture-in-Picture window, utilize the hidden video playback feature.
Performing the steps is incredibly simple, just swipe the running video window to the side of the screen, and the video will be hidden.
Note: If the window is on the right side, swipe to the right edge; if it's on the left side, swipe to the left edge.

After hiding, there will be an arrow icon next to the screen. Tap on the arrow icon to bring the video window back.
