However, in reality, there are still many wired mouse models designed for laptop use. These mice typically have relatively small sizes and shorter cables.

If you use a mouse for desktop computers or gaming purposes, my advice is to use a wired mouse! Wired mice provide better performance, smoother operation, and higher durability.

2. Which type of wireless mouse should you buy?

Currently, there are 2 common types of wireless mice on the market: RF wireless mice and Bluetooth wireless mice.

Bluetooth wireless mice can be connected to laptops, PCs, or TVs without needing a USB dongle, as long as the TV or laptop supports Bluetooth.

The key advantage of Bluetooth wireless mice is the absence of a signal receiver requirement, enabling connectivity with most Bluetooth-enabled devices. This functionality proves particularly beneficial for high-end machines lacking USB ports, such as the MacBook 2016 onwards.

Nevertheless, a notable downside of Bluetooth wireless mice is their latency, which users readily observe during usage. Bluetooth wireless mice exhibit slower response times compared to RF wireless counterparts.

RF wireless mice, on the other hand, come equipped with a USB adapter for user convenience.

Speaking of advantages, RF wireless mice offer smoother experiences with minimal latency compared to Bluetooth wireless mice. However, these mice may not be suitable for machines lacking USB ports, thus occupying connectivity ports on the device.

3. Should you choose a mouse with traditional batteries or rechargeable batteries?

Most affordable mice utilize one or two AAA batteries for operation. These mice can run continuously for several months without battery replacement. Additionally, AAA batteries are very inexpensive.

Wireless mice with rechargeable batteries often come at a higher price and require regular monitoring of battery levels to prevent sudden depletion, leading to time-consuming recharging.
