1. What is Apple One service?
Previously, you might have heard of Google One, a comprehensive service package from Google, and now it's Apple's turn with Apple One. Apple One service is a bundled service consisting of various smaller service packages inside and they can be rented on a monthly, quarterly, yearly basis, etc. To put it simply, you can think of Apple One service as buying service products in combo and you only need to pay once for all services instead of multiple times.
Apple currently offers a variety of different services such as Apple Music, Apple TV, iCloud, Apple Arcade, Apple News, Apple Fitness. If you use these services, you will have to pay multiple times a month and it can be very cumbersome. However, if you use Apple One, you only need to pay for the Apple One service, and you will be able to use all of Apple's services.
Apple One was introduced by Apple in late 2020 and is now available on almost all products such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacOS, Apple TV.
Overall, Apple's solution is similar to Google's. They want users to buy service bundles and bundle all services into one. Simply put, both Google One and Apple One are all-in-one, buy one service and you'll have access to all products inside instead of buying separately. Moreover, purchasing Apple One, Google One is even cheaper than buying individually.
2. Products included in Apple One
Currently, the highest-tier package of Apple One provides up to 6 different services such as: Apple Music, iCloud, TV+, Arcade, New+.
- Apple Music: Apple Music service is widely known worldwide with over 700,000 songs (online radio), including many Vietnamese artists such as Sơn Tùng MTP, Jack, Binz, Hoàng Thùy Linh,... The Apple Music platform is available on various devices, including Web browsers, Android, and especially iPhone, iPad,...
- Apple TV+: Apple TV is a direct competitor to Netflix and it features many exclusive Apple movies. The Apple TV platform can operate on all smart TV devices, Apple TV,... For the AppleTV platform, you won't encounter ads and there will be more new movies in the future as Apple collaborates with partners.
- Apple News+: Apple News+ is the fastest and most realistic news source with over 100 different articles every day. Apple News+ service also has the ability to listen to radio instead of reading newspapers and they work well with CarPlay-supported cars.
- Apple Arcade: Apple Arcade entertainment service is the world's leading, highly favored by young people as it offers over 100 different games, available for iPhone, iPod, iPad, Mac, Apple TV.
- iCloud Storage: iCloud storage service, by default, only has 5GB of storage but if you buy more, it can go up to 2TB.
- Fitness+: Fitness targets people who want to spend more time taking care of themselves, health through exercise. This service provides available workout instructions in various categories (including both men and women). The Fitness app is pre-installed on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and you just need to sign up.
3. Pricing of Apple One
In order to cater to a diverse range of users, Apple One offers a variety of different packages to diversify pricing to help users access more easily. The pricing of Apple One currently ranges from: 14.95$, 19.95$, 29.95$ and specifically as follows:
Individual plan (14.95$): For this lowest-cost service package, you will have access to services: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud. For an average user, this $14.95 service package is quite reasonable.
Family plan (19.95$): Includes all services from the individual plan but iCloud storage will be expanded to 200GB (allowing up to 6 people to share). At around 480,000 VND for 6 users, this is an extremely attractive figure.
Premium plan (29.95$): This service package will include all the above services plus Apple News+, Apple Fitness, and iCloud storage up to 2TB (allowing up to 6 people to share). This premium service package is priced at nearly 700,000 VND and it will be relatively difficult to sell in Vietnam.
Apple One allows users to enjoy a free trial month before deciding to purchase a product package so that users can have a better understanding before spending money. In general, Apple One services are quite robust and they are competitive enough with other platforms present in the market.
