1. What is national digital transformation?
National digital transformation is the comprehensive overhaul of individuals and organizations in terms of lifestyle, work, and production methods based on digital technologies. At the national level, it involves the digitization of government, economy, and society. At the local level, it means transitioning to digital governance, economy, and society within that specific region. The successful digital transformation at the local level contributes to the overall success of the national digital transformation. Therefore, digital transformation requires determined involvement from the entire political system, with a synchronized and cohesive implementation from the central to local levels.

2. National Digital Transformation Day
As per Decision No. 505/QD-TTg regarding the National Digital Transformation Day, it is observed annually on October 10th.
National Digital Transformation Day is organized to expedite the implementation of national digital transformation tasks, effectively execute the National Digital Transformation Program by 2025, and set the direction towards 2030. Simultaneously, it aims to raise awareness across society about the role, significance, and benefits of digital transformation. It encourages the participation of the entire political system, synchronized actions at all levels, and the engagement of the entire population to ensure the success of digital transformation.
The Significance of National Digital Transformation Day
National Digital Transformation Day is annually organized to accelerate the implementation of national digital transformation tasks, effectively execute the National Digital Transformation Program directed by the state up to 2025, and guide towards 2030. Simultaneously, it aims to enhance the awareness of people across society regarding the role, significance, and benefits of digital transformation. It encourages the participation of the entire political system, synchronized actions at all levels, and the engagement of the entire population to ensure the success of digital transformation.
Thus, 2022 marks Vietnam's first National Digital Transformation Day, demonstrating the determination of our state in digital transformation and creating a milestone in this field.
3. Goals of National Digital Transformation
Below are some objectives within the digital transformation roadmap until 2025:
Develop a Digital Government, enhance efficiency with 80% level-4 online public services provided across various access channels, including mobile devices. Process 90% of job records at the provincial level; 80% at the district level, and 60% at the communal level on the network environment (excluding job records within the scope of state secrets). Ensure 100% reporting systems, periodic synthesis reports, and economic-societal statistical reports for the guidance and management of the Government and the Prime Minister are connected, integrated, and share digital data on the Government Reporting Information System,…
Concerning the development of the digital economy, enhance the competitiveness of the economy with the goal of the digital economy accounting for 20% of GDP by 2025. Ensure a minimum of 10% of the digital economy's share in each sector. Achieve an annual labor productivity increase of at least 7%. Position Vietnam among the top 50 countries in information technology (IDI), the top 50 in the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), and the top 35 in the Global Innovation Index (GII).
In the development of the digital society, bridging the digital divide is the goal. By 2025, aim for broadband fiber optic network coverage of over 80% of households and 100% of communes; widespread access to 4G/5G mobile network services and smartphones. Ensure over 50% of the population has electronic payment accounts. Strive for Vietnam to be among the top 40 countries in cybersecurity and network security (GCI).
