It seems OPPO primarily focuses on the phone's design rather than hardware specs as it hasn't seen significant improvements compared to its predecessor in terms of processing power. We still see a Snapdragon 720G chipset, 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage. While the Snapdragon 720G isn't a bad chip for everyday tasks like browsing, Facebook, or YouTube, at the same price point, it's not difficult to find other smartphones with better hardware configurations sporting Snapdragon 730G, 750G, or even the 765G chipset.
Regarding gaming performance, it can still serve you well with popular titles like League of Legends, PUBG, Mobile Legends, albeit at medium settings. The 8GB RAM of Oppo Reno5 is sufficient for most multitasking needs.

Photography prowess has always been one of Oppo's strong suits, and Oppo Reno5 is no exception. Alongside hardware upgrades and sensors, Reno5 4G's standout feature is Oppo's inclusion of a plethora of intriguing software features for users, especially catering to the creative endeavors of the younger generation.
Oppo Reno5 4G features a 64MP primary sensor, an upgrade from Reno4's 48MP sensor. However, this is the only upgrade as other sensors remain the same with an 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP mono lens. There's a 32MP front camera for selfies.
Oppo Reno5's camera delivers high-detail shots and accurate colors in landscape scenes. You'll notice slightly lesser details in ultra-wide shots, but they're still usable. Macro shots appear clear and sharp. The portrait mode performs well, and users can add filters to photos along with adjusting the blur intensity.
In daylight conditions, selfie shots exhibit very good detail. You may notice the skin tone appears slightly smoother than usual. In low light conditions, the selfie camera still performs well with sufficient detail and color.

Oppo Reno5's battery has a capacity of 4310mAh. The charging speed has been upgraded to 50W fast charging, much faster than the 30W fast charging on Reno4.
Overall, Oppo Reno4 is a very good phone in its price range except for its not-so-strong performance. For those not overly concerned with gaming, this is a good all-around choice.
