When it first entered the market in late 2020 and early 2021, the Oppo Reno5 Pro, along with its siblings, the Oppo Reno5 and Reno5 Pro Plus, attracted considerable consumer interest due to its reasonable pricing, good performance, and stunning design.
During the initial days of its launch in the market, the Oppo Reno5 Pro models were priced as follows:
OPPO Reno 5 Pro 8GB RAM / 128GB ROM: $519 (approximately 12 million VND)
OPPO Reno 5 Pro 12GB RAM / 256GB ROM: $580 (approximately 13.4 million VND)
However, at present, this smartphone model has undergone a price reduction. According to our research, the selling price for the Oppo Reno5 Pro 8GB / 128GB version is: 10,390,000 VND. That's about 2 million VND cheaper than when it was first released.

– Design
Although the phone shares a similar design with the Reno4 Pro, there's a significant difference that Oppo doesn't want you to overlook: the Reno Glow glass back. This feature allows it to capture more light and refract it, creating interesting light effects that change with different angles. Additionally, it's highly fingerprint-resistant, although the surface makes the phone slightly smoother than usual.
In addition to the color options, the standout feature of the camera also makes the phone much more prominent. The camera module is arranged in multiple layers, similar to the iPhone 11 and 12 series.
When holding the device, it feels quite light at only 173g and has a relatively thin thickness of 7.6mm, with a curved glass front creating a much sleeker design. Therefore, using it for extended periods won't cause hand fatigue. However, the downside of being thin and light is that the phone no longer has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it also skips the setup of dual speakers.
– Display
The Oppo Reno5 Pro features an impressive 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate at a resolution of 1080 x 2400px and supports HDR10+. Oppo claims that this device can reach a maximum brightness of 800 nits, providing excellent outdoor visibility.
Very few phones in this price range boast such display specifications. Image and video display quality is sharp, with deep blacks and sufficient brightness for outdoor viewing. This display is sure to satisfy gamers.
– Configuration and Performance
The Oppo Reno5 Pro features the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset, supporting 5G connectivity and comes with either 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB RAM/ROM configurations.
Let's test the power of this chipset against its competitors. And as predicted, MediaTek's SoC still falls notably short of last year's Snapdragon 865, but it still significantly outperforms the rest of the Snapdragon family, including the Snapdragon 765G and 750G. We believe it's perfectly suited for the mid-range price segment.
With this chip, you can smoothly handle everyday tasks and even play heavy games.
– Camera
The Oppo Reno5 Pro features 4 rear cameras and 1 selfie camera. The main camera has a 64MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, while the ultra-wide camera is 8MP with an f/2.2 aperture. The other two cameras are for depth sensing and macro shots, both with 2MP resolution. Finally, there's a 32MP f/2.4 front camera for selfies.
Overall, the photo quality from the device in daylight conditions is impressive. Still images are clear, with appropriate sharpness and detail. Oppo has also focused on upgrading the camera software with AI technology, HDR, faster autofocus, etc., to enhance image quality.

Oppo Reno5 Pro boasts a non-removable Li-Po 4350 mAh battery, accompanied by a 65W fast charger, and supports reverse charging as well as Super VOOC 2.0 ultra-fast charging.
