To provide users with greater convenience in controlling TVs and smart electronic devices at home (washing machines, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, etc.) through voice commands, LG has emphasized the application of integrated smart features through the AI ThinQ artificial intelligence platform and virtual assistants Google Assistant, Samsung Bixby, and Amazon Alexa.
1. Samsung Bixby Virtual Assistant
The success of Bixby (Samsung's exclusive artificial intelligence) in high-end smartphones has enabled the tech giant Samsung to confidently integrate Bixby into its TV platform. It brings QLED TV users a more convenient, intelligent, stylish, and innovative experience than ever before.
Bixby is Samsung's new virtual assistant developed by Samsung itself. Samsung's Bixby virtual assistant uses artificial intelligence (AI) and is built into the operating system to learn usage habits and improve the user experience with the device.

Bixby can understand and process user content search requests via voice. Additionally, Bixby will continuously learn user behavior over time, to provide suitable program suggestions.

2. What is AI ThinQ?
AI ThinQ, developed exclusively by LG, refers to artificial intelligence that implies the ability to 'think' like humans in certain circumstances.
During the research of Natural Language Processing technology, LG has developed the intelligent Deep Learning platform (capable of aggregating algorithms based on a biological neural network system) to enable users to control home devices by voice.
For example, users will converse with the TV remote, instructing it to search for background music for this movie or turn off the TV when the program ends.

3. What is Google Assistant?
Google Assistant is a virtual personal assistant developed by Google, assisting you in conversing or issuing commands to control features on smart devices effortlessly.
With Google Assistant, all LG TVs integrated with AI on the WebOS platform can support users in managing daily tasks, searching for answers, or providing access to various household appliances (robot vacuums, thermostats, air purifiers, and smart lighting systems) through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity without interrupting TV viewing.

4. What is Amazon Alexa?
Amazon Alexa, often abbreviated as Alexa, is a virtual assistant developed by Amazon, capable of voice interactions (e.g., selecting songs, creating to-do lists, setting alarms, reading books, and providing weather, traffic, sports information, etc.) or functioning as a smart home control system by controlling other smart devices.

Supporting Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa allows LG's premium TV models to connect with smart devices using the Amazon Alexa platform, such as Amazon Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, and Echo Plus. This enables users to voice-command these devices to control their TVs. The Alexa virtual assistant can be activated and receive commands from users through the Alexa app installed on the TV or through the Amazon Prime Video button integrated on the remote.
For instance, if you place an Amazon Alexa device in the kitchen, you can still control the TV (play, pause, fast forward, search content, etc.) in the living room or bedroom, streaming your favorite programs.
5. ThinQ AI integrates Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa

Thanks to the unique integration of these 3 intelligent technology platforms, LG users can search or command via voice in a conversation with the virtual assistant on the TV (supporting both Vietnamese and English) as well as manage smart electronic devices in the home.
The new TV models supported by these 2 virtual assistants will help you leverage the platforms of both Google and Amazon without being limited to just one. If your life revolves around Google's electronic devices, you can take advantage of the vast data repository from Google. Meanwhile, Alexa will bring you a richer life experience (weather, temperature, prices, and life hacks such as home repairs, cooking, shopping).
