Similar to Vietnamese, Vietnamese people can use words like dad, bố, uncle, teacher, or father, all referring to the person who brought them into the world. How to address 'bố' in English
Foreigners typically favor using Dad more frequently and widely than other terms. Daddy sounds more juvenile and is widely used by people residing in South America in their daily lives. Father is reserved for more solemn occasions.
Papa or baba, dada, and some other variations imitate the sounds made when children begin to babble, including sounds like p, b, and d. In the Middle East and South Asia, baba is used to collectively refer to and address fathers.
Previously, Father was spelled as Fader in Old English. The term Dad was initially used in the 1500s, gradually evolving and leading to the increased usage of the variant Daddy. Pop is the newest variant, first employed in America in the 1830s, also referring to fathers who have given birth to us.
