Frank's experience – an American traveler, even with just a day trip to Vũng Tàu, this coastal city has brought him much joy and fascinating inspiration!
What makes Vũng Tàu travel exciting?
When I asked someone who had traveled to Vietnam about Vũng Tàu, they might just smile and say... Where's Vũng Tàu?
Although the name Vũng Tàu may not be well-known among foreign visitors, this seaside city truly charms with its brick-paved promenades running parallel to the beach. The park right by the coast is a pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll to admire the sea view, and it promises to be a worthwhile tourist destination if you have the time to visit.

Vũng Tàu tourism doesn't just stop at beachside leisure, but also offers opportunities to gaze upon the sea from all angles, and observe the fishing boats scattered along the horizon. We left our hotel after breakfast for a stroll around. Surprisingly, this small coastal city has so many interesting landscapes to offer.

Impressions of the King of Christ Statue
We've heard that in Vũng Tàu there's a statue of Jesus taller than the one in Rio de Janeiro, and that's got me excited, I must see it for myself. I've always loved the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, so this will be an opportunity for me to see a different image of the statue.

We climbed a fairly tall mountain before getting to admire the beauty of the Vietnamese version of the Christ statue. The statue of Christ in Brazil is 30m tall, whereas the one in Vũng Tàu is 32m tall. The statue here has triumphed not only in its height but also in the incredibly impressive scenery.

Another thing that intrigued me was being able to climb the spiral staircase of 133 steps to get high and observe the surrounding scenery. From the statue's shoulders, I could overlook the entire landscape of Vũng Tàu: Mount Lon, Dau Beach, Front Beach, Pineapple Beach, Back Beach, Chi Linh Beach, Thuy Tien Pond, Lotus Pond, Mud Pond...

Experience Vũng Tàu nightlife
In the evening, our group went out to explore the nightlife here. On the streets, groups of tourists were strolling, with many young people riding tandem bicycles, looking very interesting. We went to a nearby bar for a few beers. Then we went outside to admire the fishing boats bobbing on the sea, with very bright lights, making this city look very glamorous at night.

Even though we only stopped by Vũng Tàu for just one day, as we had to move on to Mũi Né the next morning – where we hoped to create even more memories of Vietnam for ourselves, but for me Vũng Tàu is a city that left many marks on us. After that trip, Vũng Tàu became a destination we often added to suggestions for friends, if they intended to seek joy in Vietnam.
