In the near future, with Earth depleted by natural resource scarcity, Netflix's series follows an elite team dispatched on a special mission to an abandoned research facility on the moon.
'The Silent Sea' is a series based on the short film of the same name by director Choi Hang-yong, which received acclaim at the 13th Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival in 2014. Actor Jung Woo-sung was drawn to Choi's decade-long development of the story. 'I'm attracted to the remarkable ideas behind the narrative. I want to contribute to creating a unique Korean science fiction series,' Jung said.
With their combined power and suspenseful intensity, the sci-fi horror series 'The Silent Sea' is bound to be a significant culmination of Korean films and series for 2021.
