Samsung's announcement states that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series, including the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra, will not include a charger in the box, along with some other accessories like cases and headphones. Charging Capability of the Galaxy S21 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra this year will only come with a Type-C charging cable and support fast wired charging at 25W, fast wireless charging at 15W, and reverse charging at 4.5W. So, this year's charging feature is a 'step back' compared to last year's Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, which was equipped with fast charging up to 45W.
Explaining the reduction in charging power of the S21 Ultra down to only 25W, Samsung believes it's a fairly reasonable adjustment because in reality, Galaxy S20 Ultra users didn't fully utilize the 45W charging power. Moreover, Samsung only included a 25W charger in the S20 Ultra box; if users wanted faster charging, they had to buy an additional 45W charger, and very few people opted to purchase the 45W charger, so Samsung sees this feature as unattractive to users. Samsung also added that the difference in charging time between 45W and 25W charging power is not significantly large.
Having a 25W fast charging feature doesn't mean this latest flagship phone from Samsung can't connect to a charger faster than 25W. It simply means that when connected to a higher-rated charger like the 45W fast charger, the Galaxy S21 Ultra won't charge any faster.
With a 5000mAh battery on the S21 Ultra, charging time with a 25W fast charger will take just over 1 hour to fully charge the battery. This is quite impressive compared to other Android phones like OnePlus or Xiaomi with a 65W charger and the ability to fully charge in 40 minutes.
What is the price of the Galaxy S21 Ultra phone charger?
