Wireless technology glitches can be puzzling, and when it comes to Apple's AirPods, finding a quick fix isn't always a walk in the park. Designed to seamlessly integrate with all Apple Bluetooth-compatible devices, AirPods may not always perform flawlessly.
Encountering the occasional inconvenience of an AirPod intermittently losing connection or ceasing operation without apparent cause can be quite irksome. If you've faced this issue, follow the steps below to address it.
Resolving AirPods Malfunction
1. Recharge and Retry
The first thing to try is placing them back in the case and ensuring the AirPods are fully charged. Then, take them out of the case and give it another shot. This simple step resolves most issues, making it the go-to method to apply initially.
2. Perform AirPods Reset
If placing your AirPods in the case and charging doesn't revive them, consider resetting by following these steps:
Step 1: Place both AirPods in the charging case. If both AirPods charge normally, proceed to step 2. If not, seek assistance from Apple Support.
Step 2: After charging, if one AirPod still remains silent, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone.
Step 3: Tap the Info (i) icon next to your AirPods.
Step 4: Select Forget This Device and confirm the action.
Step 5: Place AirPods back in the charging case, close the lid, wait for 30 seconds, and open the case lid.
Step 6: Press and hold the power button until you see the light.
Step 7: With the AirPods still in the case, place them near the device and reconnect following the on-screen instructions.
Either of the two methods above should resolve the AirPods malfunction. If applied without success, consider cleaning the AirPods and reaching out to Apple Support.
AirPlay is also a feature on iPhone and iPad. In case of AirPlay issues or malfunctions, refer to How to Fix AirPlay Not Working for guidance.
