WhatsApp for Windows 10 adds message forwarding restrictions.
WhatsApp introduces message forwarding restrictions for the first time in July this year, as a way to curb the spread of fake news and scams. Previously, the app was used to disseminate baseless rumors and fake news, causing uncontrollable troubles.

In an article on BBC, it is stated that the series of kidnappings and murders are caused by users forwarding messages, videos containing misleading content, and fake news. Consequently, many people fall victim to these unfounded rumors.
The latest WhatsApp version 0.3.225 has been updated with general bug fixes and a feature to limit message forwarding, allowing users to forward a maximum of 20 times. This means an account can only forward a message 20 times, after which the forwarding option will be disabled. Specifically for users in India, the number is reduced to only 5 times.
Explaining this, WhatsApp states that India is the country with the largest number of active app users, with over 200 million users. Moreover, with this massive user base, the app has also become a platform for spreading fake news and causing serious trouble. Therefore, the company will restrict, allowing only users in India to forward messages a maximum of 5 times.
