Support for voice and video calls in many chat services on the computer platform has recently surged for quite clear reasons and WhatsApp seems to want to be a part of this trend. According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has finally started testing voice and video calling feature in the beta version with a few users.
Both the voice and video call buttons in the WhatsApp app for PC and web are labeled Beta, so WhatsApp wants to make it clear from the start that this feature may still not work exactly as expected.
If you're on the receiving end, a separate pop-up window will appear whenever a call comes in. This window will display the caller's name, profile picture, and buttons to accept or decline the call.
Similarly, if you initiate a call, you'll see a separate pop-up window with the name and profile picture of the contact you're calling, a button to toggle video, a mute button, a menu button, and a button to end the call.
