Closing an unforgettable journey with family amidst the pristine space of the mountains, I realized my heart had fallen in love with Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat long ago...
Putting aside the hustle and bustle of work, the trip to Meliá Ba Vi Mountain Retreat was spontaneously scheduled when I felt the desire to slow down and seek a peaceful place with my children and family to recharge.
Although not too far from Hanoi, we still wanted to depart early in the morning to check into the green space here. Ba Vi Mountain has many twists and turns, but the natural scenery on both sides of the road will awe any nature lover. Viewing the winding river from above, the majestic mountains shrouded in clouds, and clusters of wildflowers blooming amidst the ancient trees weave a picturesque landscape of unparalleled beauty.
We were welcomed by the bright smiles and friendly faces of the resort staff, offering refreshing detox drinks. Although the lobby was small, it was elegantly designed and blended harmoniously with nature under the shade of cooling trees. Here, it's easy to feel the relaxation of the lush greenery combined with the beauty of legends, history, nature, and the sophistication of a resort managed by a prestigious corporation.
Amidst the serene forest lies moss-covered houses peeking out behind ancient trees. They blend in so well that each house seems like an essential part of that idyllic picture. Especially when the sun rises gently shining through the leaves onto the stone-paved paths and the old glass-roofed porches, making each house look as beautiful as a sleeping princess in the forest awaiting her prince to knock on the door.
Our family's accommodation is perfectly situated with lush green vines covering the windows, a private balcony overlooking the majestic Ba Vi Mountain. Designed specifically for families, the space here is quite spacious with separate living rooms, bedrooms, and a separate attic floor, all equipped with modern amenities and elegant furnishings. The sweet scent of natural essential oils from the lamp in the room dissipates the weariness of the journey. Afternoon naps come naturally as the whole family lounges on the comfortable bed.
Unforgettable Experiences
There were numerous aspects that impressed me during this family vacation at Melia Bavi. Firstly, it was the delight of our children immersing themselves in nature, thanks to the playground designed with adorable treehouse cabins resembling bird nests within the resort grounds. After gleefully exploring those charming wooden cabins, the little ones could enjoy rocking horses, swings, or exhilarating rope climbing. Occasionally, it was delightful to hear their excited cheers upon unexpectedly encountering bees, dragonflies, or butterflies flying by.
The buggy tour to ancient ruins was also a memorable exploration that I will cherish. The buggy drove us swiftly across hillsides amidst lush greenery. I took the opportunity to close my eyes and inhale the scent of grass and feel the clouds gently brushing through my hair. At each landmark, our guide provided detailed explanations. Despite only remnants of crumbling walls, with trees sprouting between the stones and moss, the intriguing stories about the ruins left a special impression on me and my fellow travelers.
The four-season swimming pool amidst the surrounding mountains and clouds is perhaps the place my family has checked in to the most. With its year-round warm, crystal-clear water, this place truly brings moments of joy with family members. What could be better than immersing oneself in cool water while admiring the drifting clouds above and the majestic mountains before your eyes, resembling a picturesque painting?
It would be remiss not to mention the cuisine here. Not only was I captivated by the delicious fresh salads and vegetables, but also by the European-Asian dishes, especially the regional specialties prepared by talented chefs with great finesse. If you visit Senses, do not miss out on the crab claw salad, five-spice beef stew, or flavorful pho for a hearty breakfast, or the exquisite European dishes served for a romantic dinner. Choosing a seat by the window, we had truly delightful and happy moments as a family, enjoying delicious food while admiring the breathtaking mountainous scenery.
Before heading back to the cozy room, I made sure to visit the YHI Spa & Wellness to cleanse my body of stress and worries. As expected, stepping into the space inspired by the East, I immediately felt my soul at ease. Every decoration, light, sound, and color at YHI Spa brought me pleasant and relaxing sensations. After soaking in the Jacuzzi, I was led into a warmly inviting room. Choosing my favorite essential oil scent for the massage, shedding my robe, and sinking into the comfortable bed, I gently closed my eyes, listening to the soothing melody and allowing all five senses to detoxify with the unique massage therapies here.
There are still many other wonderful experiences such as practicing Yoga by Swan Lake or climbing to the mountaintop to catch the sunset at 700m above sea level. If you're seeking a peaceful 'oasis,' give Melia Bavi a try once, and you'll understand why I love this place so much…
