Annually, Africa organizes a beauty contest among men of the Wodaabe tribe in the Sahel desert, considered an exceptionally unique beauty competition. Women in the tribe hold all the power. They can sleep with anyone they choose before marriage and can have multiple husbands.

The location of Gerewol, the event's host, is kept secret and only revealed a few days before it takes place. Men will compete in a dance called 'Yaake' – a mating dance to showcase strength, performed in front of three female judges who are also the three most beautiful women in the tribe. They will decide the ultimate winner.
