In April, I'll head to the beach. They say after the rain comes the sunshine, after the storm comes the calm. This April, I'm making my way to Cù Lao Câu to admire the burnt thorny bushes turning into vibrant green. Visiting the serene Tiên Beach again. Wanting to immerse myself in the water all day long, standing in rock crevices, enjoying shredded chicken and watermelon dipped in seawater.

How about mountain climbing this April? April mountain climbing often encounters rain. Climbing mountains in the rain is truly arduous, but it has its own charm. The rain makes the slippery trails disheartening for conquerors. Carrying luggage on your back feels like carrying an entire hill, especially in the rain. Raindrops patter on the leaves. Rain blows onto the face. After the rain, a chilling cold sets in. Amidst the difficulty and hardship, some wish they were snug at home with warm blankets, while others gather around a warm fire, passing around overflowing wine glasses, shoulder to shoulder, chatting through the night. (Not recommended for solo treks).

This April, let's head to the plains. Saigon is breezy this season. The silk cotton flowers flutter gracefully along poetic streets. Kites twirl and dance in the air before gently landing with a smile. Hanoi is in bloom. Bauhinia and Ban flowers bloom, whitening the tree branches. Flower-laden bikes roam the streets. It's been a while since I last visited Hanoi.
