Overview of Oppo A93 5G and Oppo A92s smartphones
Both of these smartphones belong to the mid-range segment of Oppo, a technology giant from China. Oppo A93 5G debuted in early 2021, whereas A92s was introduced in April 2020.

Oppo A92s and Oppo A93 5G: Design
Both of these Oppo products are sizable, with Oppo A92s measuring 163.8 x 75.5 x 8.1 mm and weighing 184 g. Meanwhile, Oppo A93 5G measures 162.9 x 74.7 x 8.4 mm and weighs 188 g. The larger dimensions offer users a better experience, albeit posing challenges for one-handed use or portability.
Both of these mid-range smartphones feature a plastic back and a glass front. Overall, they have similar build quality, making it a point of similarity. However, the difference lies in the camera setup. Oppo A92s boasts a square-shaped quad-camera setup with a diagonal accent, while A93 5G features a straight-line triple-camera setup. A92s comes in Pink, White, and Black colors. On the other hand, A93 5G is available in Black, White, and Glacial colors. Personally, I prefer the design of A93 5G.
Oppo A92s and Oppo A93 5G: Display
Oppo A92s sports a 6.57-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Conversely, Oppo A93 5G features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with the same resolution. Both phone displays have a 20:9 aspect ratio.
With high-resolution displays, both of these smartphones offer rich colors, excellent video quality, high display image quality, and great gaming visuals.
The difference lies in the screen refresh rate, with Oppo A92s having a 120Hz refresh rate compared to Oppo A93 5G's 90Hz refresh rate.
Oppo A92s and Oppo A93 5G: Camera
– Rear Camera
Oppo A92s features a quad rear camera setup: a 48 MP main lens with f/1.7 aperture; an 8MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture; a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture; and a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. On the other hand, Oppo A93 5G is equipped with a triple rear camera setup: a 48 MP main lens with f/1.8 aperture; a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture; and a 2 MP mono camera with f/2.4 aperture.
The quality of both main cameras is equivalent. They provide excellent image quality, high detail in daylight conditions. The main cameras of both phones feature phase detection autofocus for fast and accurate focusing, support HDR for capturing images with a wider range of colors.
However, thanks to the addition of an ultra-wide camera, Oppo A92s has a better rear camera setup, making it easier to capture landscapes or group photos. Additionally, the main camera of Oppo A92s can record 4K videos at 30fps. On the other hand, the main camera of Oppo A93 5G can only record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
– Front Camera
Oppo A92s boasts a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture on the front. Whereas Oppo A93 5G has only one 8 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Oppo A92s and Oppo A93 5G: Performance
Oppo A92s is equipped with the Mediatek Dimensity 800 5G chipset. It features an Octa-core CPU. On the other hand, Oppo A93 5G utilizes the Snapdragon 480 5G chipset. It also has an Octa-core CPU. However, the Mediatek Dimensity 800 5G CPU provides slightly higher performance compared to the Snapdragon 480 5G CPU but the difference is not significant. Both deliver smooth overall experiences and are capable of handling gaming well.
Oppo A92s comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, whereas Oppo A93 5G comes with 8GB of RAM. Both phones also offer internal storage options of 128GB or 256GB. However, Oppo A93 5G supports microSD card expansion, while Oppo A92s does not support expandable storage.
Oppo A92s and Oppo A93 5G: Battery and Charging
Oppo A92s features a 4000 mAh battery, while Oppo A93 5G comes with a 5000 mAh battery. With a larger battery, Oppo A93 5G also offers longer battery life. Both phones also come with 18W fast charging support.
Thus, with similar price points, choosing between these two smartphones can be challenging. Oppo A92s boasts a higher performance chipset, ultra-clear camera, and 4K video recording. However, Oppo A93 5G offers expandable storage, mono camera, larger battery, and the latest operating system. From a personal perspective, with not much difference in performance, Oppo A93 5G is a good choice as it is a newly launched product with more updated OS features.
