Let's get started on this culinary adventure!
Ingredients:
Apple Portion:
- 2 apples
- 45g granulated sugar
- 15g brown sugar
- 15g butter
Cake Base Portion:
- 200g all-purpose flour
- 5g baking powder
- 1 egg
- 30g powdered sugar
- 160ml milk
- 10g softened butter
Instructions:
- To execute the upside-down apple cake using a rice cooker, start by removing the seeds and slicing the apples into 5mm thick pieces. You can choose to leave the apple skin on or peel it off.

- Next, place the sliced apples in a pan/pot along with brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, occasionally flipping the apples to ensure even coating with the sugar and butter mixture.

- Afterward, beat egg whites with sugar in a large bowl, then sift flour and add the remaining ingredients, gently mix. At this stage, there's no need to beat the egg whites to stiff peaks as our apple cake will rise with baking powder, and the fresh milk will keep it moist.

- Now, pour the sugar syrup with apples from step 2 into the pot first. Then, arrange the apple slices in a spiral pattern. Pour the mixed batter gently so that it covers the apple surface evenly.

- Finally, turn on the Cook mode and cook for 35 minutes, then open the lid. Use a bamboo skewer to check if the cake is done and turn off the heat.

Now, tightly cover with the lid and let the cake sit for an additional 10 minutes. Your upside-down apple cake using a rice cooker is now complete.
