If your Android device encounters a situation where selecting to download an app shows no signs of starting the download or displays the text 'Downloading' indefinitely without initiating the download, or if it doesn't allow downloads and shows an error message with an error code. - First, try disconnecting from the network (Wi-Fi or 3G), then reconnect and try downloading the app again.
- If the issue persists, go to the app being downloaded, press the cancel download button, and then try downloading it again.
- Check if the date and time on your device are accurate. If the time is incorrect, Google's server won't allow you to download. How to adjust the time: Settings >> Date & Time
- As a last resort if you still can't download the app: go to Settings >> Apps >> switch to the All tab >> find Google Play Store >> press the 'Clear cache' button to clear the cache of Play Store. Restart your device and download the app again.
