The undeniable surge of NFT games comes with myriad issues and shortcomings.
Blockchain technology is gradually gaining popularity in recent years and has been applied, integrated into many fields. Most notably in gaming, with the emergence of numerous new-generation NFT games. However, it cannot be denied that at the present time, NFT games are a divisive issue within the gaming community, as not everyone is enthused about this change. There are reasons behind it all.

The eternal conflict between Publishers and Gamers
It's undeniable that, since the online gaming industry has developed and achieved its current billions of dollars in value, the relationship between Publishers and gamers has always been marked by a conflict over the profits they receive. From the perspective of gamers, there's nothing better than being able to invest a small amount of money and still have a perfect gaming experience. From the business standpoint of Publishers, making gamers willingly 'open their wallets' is always a top concern.

The emergence of blockchain technology and NFT features has provided an excellent opportunity for Publishers to maximize profits by creating additional options. And this isn't something traditional gamers are unfamiliar with.
NFTs are not delivering significant benefits for gamers
Fundamentally, the win-win relationship between publishers and gamers remains the key to the success of every game title. Many are willing to 'bleed' for publishers if what they offer is truly deserving.

However, according to many gamers' opinions, what NFT applications bring to games is not yet truly commensurate and worthy of their investment. Not only do they fail to make the gaming experience more enjoyable, they also make gamers feel that enjoying their games becomes more expensive than ever. That's the main reason why NFTs are so vehemently disliked.
Publishers themselves are hesitant to take decisive action
The resistance and boycott of NFT games by gamers also stem from publishers' reluctance to take decisive and bold actions to change. Just look at Ubisoft, which introduced NFT integration only to face strong boycotts, leading to its immediate cancellation. Or take the case of EA Sports. Just three months ago, the CEO of this publisher boldly proclaimed, 'NFTs will be the application of the future'.

However, shortly after, in the face of strong opposition from the gaming community, the CEO had to backtrack, stating, 'Currently, EA is not considering promoting crypto projects aggressively'. This 'wait-and-see' approach only makes the NFT integration effort seem more distant and unfamiliar to gamers, as no publisher dares to take bold steps to change.
