Many users are concerned when their Samsung fridge feels hot on both sides, unsure if it's a fault or damage. Let's explore the reasons and solutions together with Mytour!

The fridge generates heat during the cooling process. To reduce this heat, cooling coils are installed on both outer walls of the fridge. Therefore, when the product operates, heat will be generated on the sides of the fridge.

Additionally, to maintain a cool temperature inside the fridge, heat generated when the compressor operates periodically will be dissipated forward and on both sides of the fridge. Hence, this phenomenon is not a malfunction.
Preventive measures to avoid excessive heat in your fridge:
Space between the fridge and the wall
- If your fridge feels warmer than usual, it may be due to the space between the fridge and its surroundings.
- Ensure there's a minimum clearance of 5cm around all edges and at the back of the appliance, and then at least 2.5cm of clearance on top.

Check the surrounding environment of the fridge
- Avoid direct sunlight hitting the fridge.
- Do not place any heating devices around the fridge.
- Do not cover the fridge.

Clean the back of your fridge
- We recommend you to clean the back of your fridge regularly.
- Unplug the power plug from the outlet when you clean the back of the fridge.

Set the fridge temperature properly
- In high ambient temperatures, please avoid setting the fridge temperature too low. Generally, it's recommended to adjust the fridge temperature to 7℃ during summer.
Optimize food loading
- Avoid storing too much food. Generally, it's better not to exceed 80%.
Avoid leaving the door open for extended periods or frequently
Note:
Especially, a lot of heat can be generated during hot summer months or during initial product installation and operation, but it won't be a problem if cool air can escape from inside the fridge.
Sometimes, one side of the Samsung fridge may feel hotter than usual immediately after a period of inactivity or after warranty service, but this occurs during air circulation and gradually changes back to similar levels as the temperature cools down.
If one side of your Samsung fridge is too hot even after checking all the steps above, please contact the warranty center for the best troubleshooting.
