Will the Apple Silicon M1X chip have variations called M1 Pro and M1 Max?

Information from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg indicates that a macOS software developer has discovered mentions of 'M1 Pro' and 'M1 Max' in the data logs of an application running on the beta version of macOS Monterey released last month.

The aforementioned software developer shared details with me regarding the processing chip for the upcoming generation of MacBook Pro, which appeared in the information logs under the names M1 Pro and M1 Max. This doesn't necessarily mean that Apple will name the new processing chip in the upcoming MacBook Pro after these terms, but it's entirely possible, although it might confuse users. In about 24 hours, we will know the truth.

In reality, the term 'M1X' is something coined by the media to describe Apple's latest generation of Silicon chips, not confirmed by Apple. You might recall, even up to half a month before the iPhone 13 was announced, there was debate over whether their new phone would be named 12S or 13 due to Western superstitions. The term 'M1X' emerged because Apple has a habit of creating higher-end processor versions under the A series, like the A12X on the iPad Pro based on the A12 architecture on the iPhone XS.

Turning back to the event on October 18th, alongside the new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Apple might also unveil a new Mac mini equipped with the latest Apple Silicon chip, new generation AirPods, and who knows, maybe even a 27-inch iMac with better specs than the 24-inch version?
