Windows 10 is the latest and most widely used Windows operating system. Recently, Windows 10 has provided a direct way for users to adjust their screen refresh rate.
Users only need to go to Settings > Display > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter Properties >tab Monitor and then choose from the available values. Some monitors also allow refreshing rate adjustments through OSD, while Nvidia GPU users can do something similar by going to Nvidia Control Panel and choosing a suitable value in Display > Change Resolution to modify the selected monitor's resolution.
In the latest Insider Build 20236, Microsoft has added a Refresh Rate option within Advanced display settings, allowing users to modify this value without delving deeper into other menus and tabs.
The available values will depend on your specific monitor type, and opting for higher settings will deliver a smoother experience at the expense of increased power consumption. Microsoft has also made changes to the Windows Search Box, making it more useful by displaying a list of recently searched items.
In addition to adjusting screen settings, tweaking the frame rate contributes to a more comfortable experience. This is especially true for main screen icons that might be too large or too small, or wallpaper colors that appear washed out.

Up to 4 items will be listed in the Recent section, including apps, files, settings, and URLs. If there are no entries, the list will be hidden. Microsoft will continue to use the Windows Search Box to promote Microsoft Edge, Skype, and other services, introducing a new 'education string' that highlights Windows Search capabilities. Items in the list can also be removed, and users can disable this feature in Settings > Search > Permissions and History.
