The Redmond giant first acknowledged this printer issue on July 22, but as of now, the company has not released any bug fixes. Two scenarios may occur: Windows 10 may display duplicates of installed printers, and even worse, users may be unable to print on printers connected via USB.

Windows 10 Update Causes Error on USB-connected Printers
For users encountering this issue, Microsoft advises opening the Feedback Hub by typing Feedback Hub into the Start Menu search box, selecting it from the search results, and following these steps:
Step 1: Fill in information under Summarize your feedback and Explain in more detail.
Step 2: Under Choose a category, select Problem => Devices and Drivers => Print, then click Next.
Step 3: Under Find similar feedback, select Make new bug, then click Next.
Step 4: In Add more details, provide additional relevant information.
While waiting for the issue to be resolved, users can follow these steps to temporarily fix the problem:
Step 1: Open the Settings app by pressing Windows + I, then click on Bluetooth & devices => Printers & scanners.
Step 2: If a duplicate printer appears, try printing with it to see if it works.
Step 3: If you need to use the original printer settings, right-click on the duplicate printer and select Printer properties, then choose the Ports tab. Remember to note the port the printer is using.
Step 4: Repeat the same steps to open Printer properties on the original printer and select the Ports tab. From the displayed list, choose the port the duplicate printer is using. If the original printer works fine, proceed to delete the duplicate printer.
As of now, Microsoft has not released any fixes for this printing issue. Users are advised to update printer drivers or uninstall and reinstall the device.

To uninstall a device, simply open the Settings app and navigate to Bluetooth & devices => Printers & scanners. Select the affected printer and click on Remove Device.
