Microsoft releases an update adding a plethora of new features to Windows 11 (Image: Windows Central)Microsoft has rolled out the first major feature update of Windows 11 for 2023, bringing along a slew of new features and changes to enhance the user experience. This update will be widely released to all users as part of the March 2023 security update.
Microsoft's Product Director, Panos Panay, unveiled the new update in a blog post earlier today:
'This is an exciting time in the tech industry, not just for our sector but for the world. Windows PCs have never been more fitting for our daily lives, and this rings truer as we embrace the wave of AI-led technology. Today's significant update for Windows 11 that I'm eager to introduce embraces this new era of AI, while also reimagining and enhancing how people get work done on their PCs.'
The new Taskbar interface optimized for 2-in-1 devices and tablets (Image: Microsoft)Microsoft introduces several new features as part of this release, including an optimized Taskbar for tablets and 2-in-1 devices, updated Group Chat interface, Full-screen Widgets, tabs in Notepad, and screen recording in Snipping Tool, along with many other additions.
Notably, the company has also announced the Phone Link update for iOS, set to launch later this year but already available as a preview for Windows Insiders starting today.

The search box can now display Bing Chat icon and the Search panel features new Bing capabilities with the ability to launch a chat session with quick chat prompts.
Windows Search will integrate Bing AI Chat seamlessly.For enterprise customers managed by Active Directory, the Start menu is being updated with AI to better display files and content deemed most relevant by artificial intelligence. Additionally, there's a new Cloud PC app allowing businesses to create cloud-based PCs for employee connectivity.
