Alongside Windows 11 SE, Microsoft has introduced the Surface Laptop SE to compete head-to-head with Chromebook based on Chrome OS, targeting students and educators.
Windows 11 SE and Surface Laptop SE - the perfect optimization
Windows 11 SE is suitable for operation on affordable laptops, particularly beneficial for students who cannot afford third-party app installations, helping them focus more on learning. However, Chrome and Zoom are among the initial apps available for Windows 11 SE, with Microsoft yet to disclose details of all supported apps.
In addition to lacking the Microsoft Store, Windows 11 SE also lacks the Snap Layouts interface available on regular Windows 11, and the Widgets section is also missing. Microsoft states that they designed Windows 11 SE after gathering feedback from educators and IT administrators.

This operating system also comes pre-installed with Microsoft Edge to enable users to access web-based apps and websites.
Microsoft Office apps are also available for offline use on Windows 11 SE devices. Furthermore, Microsoft has promised to expand support for third-party apps on the new platform over time to include apps from categories such as regular testing, access capability, content filtering, classroom coordination.
