With the first Windows 11 build leaked, quite a few interesting things have been discovered on this unreleased operating system. Although the leaked version is not complete compared to what is expected to be announced on June 24th, it provides some insights into the new generation Windows operating system that users are eagerly awaiting. One of them is Wake on Touch, the touch to wake the screen feature that has been present on Windows Phone.
Windows 11 upgrades with the touch feature to turn on the device.
Windows 11 may support a setting to enable and disable the Wake on Touch feature. This setting has been found in the leaked build of the next-generation Windows operating system, but currently, there seems to be no way to access it through Settings. With this feature, users will be able to wake their devices from sleep mode by tapping the screen a few times. It may require special hardware and will likely be officially introduced with the Surface Pro 8 lineup in October.

Clearly, the Wake on Touch feature draws inspiration from Windows phones and it's great to see it on PCs. At this point, there is no information about which specific PCs will be supported, but it may require special sensors, meaning most Surface devices and next-generation PCs are likely to support it, but that remains to be seen.
Besides the Wake on Touch feature, Microsoft is also developing multitasking features for Windows. While Windows 10 currently allows running 2 or more apps on the screen at the same time, Windows 11 will support a new Snap feature, providing users with a better multitasking experience. Microsoft plans to host a virtual event introducing Windows 11 on June 24th, and more detailed information will be shared in the coming days.
