Kanavi's resurgence sends LCK fans into a frenzy once again.
On the afternoon of September 11 (Vietnam time), a friendly match between the League of Legends teams from Vietnam and South Korea took place amidst anticipation from the audience. Despite being just a friendly match, it was the first encounter between both teams since their formation. Therefore, fans hoped that through this match, the abilities of players from both sides would be showcased to some extent.
However, due to the nature of a friendly match and Faker's temporary absence, coupled with the Korean players' superior skills, the match almost became a playground for Korean stars. In the second game, players from the land of the morning calm even seemed comfortable with the opponent's bans. For instance, Kanavi brought Nidalee back into play, while Ruler played freely, and Chovy fulfilled his role by pushing lanes.
Nevertheless, for Korean fans, the match brought about concerns. Specifically, Kanavi's outstanding performance made many LCK fans think about the World Championship (Worlds) 2023. By then, Kanavi would not be playing for any LCK team but would be competing under JD Gaming. Some even half-jokingly said: 'So, are we going to be destroyed at Worlds 2023 or what?'. The majority opinion is that Kanavi had an outstanding BO3, surpassing expectations. Indeed, in the two matches against the Vietnamese League of Legends team, Kanavi stood out the most, followed by Zeus and Ruler. Despite Vietnam being a much weaker opponent, and the Korean team having a somewhat relaxed draft and playstyle, one cannot deny the confidence of the Korean stars.
