1. COLUMN DIVISION
For Word 2003
1: Start by positioning your cursor in the text area where you want to divide columns. If dividing a specific paragraph, highlight that text → Format → Columns…
2: Display the Columns dialog. Choose the number of columns to divide, customize the column settings if you don't want to make many adjustments → OK.
For Word 2010 (similar to Word 2007, 2013)
1: Similar to Word 2003, position your cursor in the text area where you want to divide columns. If dividing a specific paragraph, highlight that text → go to the Page Layout tab → Columns → More Columns…
2: The Columns dialog will appear. Choose the number of columns you want to display and customize relevant settings if needed → OK.

2. CREATE DROPCAP
For Word 2003
1: Position your cursor in the paragraph where you want to create a Drop Cap → Format → Drop Cap.
2: Select the Drop Cap style you want to display (In Margin style won't be selectable if the text is already divided into columns) and customize parameters like font style (Font), the number of lines the Drop Cap will occupy (Lines to drop) → OK.
For Word 2010 (similar to Word 2007, 2013)
1: Place the cursor in the paragraph where you want to create a Drop Cap → go to the Insert tab → Drop Cap → Drop Cap Options…
2: Display the Drop Cap dialog. Choose the Drop Cap style (similar to Word 2003, In Margin style won't be available if the text is already divided into columns) and adjust relevant parameters → OK.
