World's longest flight route from Hong Kong (China) to New York (USA) by Cathay Pacific is now being extended to avoid Russian airspace.
World's Longest Flight Route Just Announced
Cathay Pacific announces a shift in its regular flight route from Hong Kong (China) to New York (USA) across the Atlantic Ocean instead of the Pacific Ocean as usual.
World's longest flight route by Cathay Pacific could span 10,357 miles, equivalent to 16,668 km. Passengers will experience the journey for approximately 16-17 hours.

The airline representative stated that rerouting the flight path to align with wind conditions enables faster speeds without significant disruptions.
Cathay Pacific's new route is currently in the planning stage as the airline is seeking permission to operate the new service.
As global travel resumes, an increasing number of long-haul flights are being inaugurated. Cathay Pacific is not the only airline announcing the world's longest flight routes.
Last week, Air New Zealand announced a non-stop flight lasting 17 hours from New York to Auckland (New Zealand). Just a few days earlier, Qantas also revealed a new route between Dallas (USA) and Melbourne (Australia) lasting 17 hours.
