If you're not someone who prefers to spend money on software and applications, you're probably familiar with WPS Office, the free solution replacing Microsoft Office suite that has been available for a while.
WPS Office was added to the Microsoft Store last year. Recent sources from Windows Blog Italia indicate that the company behind the app, Kingsoft, has just released the 2019 version on the Microsoft Store.
Introducing WPS Office 2019 with various new enhancements, starting with the user interface. The office suite now offers a tab-based user interface, allowing users to group documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in the same window. This is done automatically to help users keep track of their tasks. Additionally, users can also create different workspaces, enabling them to separate documents related to different topics or projects.
Another change to the user interface (UI) is the customization feature. For those who prefer customizing the app interface, WPS now provides custom interfaces, although currently, there are few custom interfaces available. Users can also choose background colors or custom images.
Furthermore, the start page will display users' recent documents, making it easy for them to select documents to start working on.
Finally, Kingsoft has improved PDF file handling, added support for annotations, highlighting content, etc. The company also provides tools to quickly convert PDF to Word or convert PDF to images.
WPS Office 2019 is now available for download and installation. However, the free version will include some advertisements and limitations. The Premium package is priced at $29.99/year and provides users with 20GB of cloud storage (instead of 1GB), ad-free experience, and unlocks some additional features.
