Xạ Hương Lake is located in the valley of Con Trâu Mountain, in Xạ Hương village, Tam Dao district, Vinh Phuc province. The lake, with a depth and width of 83 hectares, has numerous large branches penetrating into the surrounding forests. It was constructed in 1984 with a capacity of over 12 million cubic meters of water to irrigate 1850 hectares of land in three districts: Tam Dao, Binh Xuyen, and Tam Duong.

The surface of Xạ Hương Lake resembles a giant swallow soaring in with the warm spring. Remarkably, the lake never dries up, which would adversely affect the ecological environment and landscape. There are no residential houses around the lake, making it ideal for tourism and aquaculture.

The landscape around the lake is diverse in both terrain and geology. Hills interweave with rocky mountains, mostly granite and gray-green quartzite mountains. Visitors to Xạ Hương Lake can delve deep into the mountain crevices on either side to explore the majestic nature here.
