A few days ago, a leak also shared with us a list of Xiaomi and Redmi devices set to update to the company's new user interface. Unfortunately, users of the highly popular Xiaomi models, Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 9, will miss out on experiencing the new software features.
Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 9 won't receive the HyperOS update.According to the leaked list, Xiaomi will only support the HyperOS user interface update for Redmi Note 10 and above devices. This means that MIUI 14 will be the final major software update that users of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 9 will experience.
HyperOS, touted as an all-in-one operating system, is expected to bring an ecosystem for humans, automobiles, and homes. It's anticipated to integrate even more with Xiaomi's other products and services, such as the Mi Home ecosystem and smart car platform.
In a Weibo post, CEO Lei Jun disclosed that the development of HyperOS commenced in 2017, with the mission of establishing 'an integrated framework, unified support for the entire device and application ecosystem.'
