Xiaomi is currently developing a smartphone with a wrap-around display and an under-display camera.

However, Xiaomi did not commercialize the Mi MIX Alpha, producing only a limited number for selected journalists to experience. Nearly four years later, Xiaomi has been granted a patent for a new smart phone design reminiscent of the Mi MIX Alpha.

According to IThome, Xiaomi has submitted a design patent to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration). This design shares similarities with the Mi Mix Alpha from 2019.

Specifically, the phone featuring Xiaomi's new wrap-around display has a slight variation compared to the Mi MIX Alpha. The display area on the back is smaller, and the black strip on the back is positioned in the middle instead of being off-center.

Moreover, all the sensors of the phone will be positioned beneath the display. The phone features a single front camera in the top-left corner, while the three rear cameras are arranged vertically on the left side of the rear display.

The SIM card slot, USB Type-C port, and external speaker are located at the bottom. On the top side, there's another external speaker and two openings, likely designed for microphones. Finally, the power button and capacitive volume controls can be found on the left side.
