Xiaomi plans MIUI 14 update for Redmi Note 9 despite ending software support

Once a device is on this list, it will no longer receive software updates from the company.However, Xiaomi has surprised Redmi Note 9 users by assuring them that their phones will receive a significant update. The company even disclosed a timeframe for when the update could be released.

Redmi Note 9 to receive MIUI 14 update soonIn an email sent to consumers, Xiaomi's support team revealed that the company will provide the MIUI 14 update for Redmi Note 9. The new software will be rolled out in the third or fourth quarter of 2023. If this information is accurate, MIUI 14 will be the third major MIUI update for Redmi Note 9. It's worth noting that the phone was launched with MIUI 11 based on Android 10.Since Redmi Note 9 has received two Android upgrades, the MIUI 14 update is highly likely to be based on Android 12 instead of Android 13.
