The initial MIX Flip project was initiated by Xiaomi in 2021 but was halted. Currently, Xiaomi is exploring a new product slated for an official unveiling in May. Some details about the MIX Flip have been leaked. It will bear the model numbers '2405CPX3DG/2405CPX3DC' and the codename 'ruyi', internally referred to as 'N8.' Xiaomi often assigns the number '8' to its MIX series devices.

The new MIX Flip will boast a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a dual-camera setup on the rear. This phone features a small display beneath the camera.
