Few people know that the youngest gold medalist of SEA Games 31 is under such intense pressure!
Looking back at the Esports team's performance at SEA Games 31, Phan Van Dong 'ViCòi''s gold medal in the PUBG Mobile solo event left an unforgettable mark. This young athlete made a remarkable breakthrough on the leaderboard to clinch the first place in an unbelievable manner. With this championship title, ViCòi becomes the youngest athlete to win a gold medal at SEA Games 31 for Vietnam Sports. He is also the first Esports athlete from Vietnam to win an individual event at a SEA Games.

At that time, this prestigious medal was seen as a testament to the journey of proving the outstanding skills of the athlete born in 2003. Before joining D'Xavier just a few months ago, ViCòi had already accumulated impressive achievements, notably ranking 5th in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021: Grand Finals (the world championship of the game PUBG Mobile). Despite often being a substitute player in D'Xavier's tournaments, ViCòi always knows how to seize the opportunity to prove his talent, demonstrating the skills of a top athlete, not inferior to his senior counterparts.

For the young athlete himself, this title is a stepping stone for him to strive harder in SEA Games 32. On the other hand, it also brings a heavy burden of pressure to the male athlete. In a conversation after nearly a year of championship, ViCòi revealed the secret that: 'I face a lot of pressure from the public. Many people say that my gold medal is just luck, there are many people like that'.
In the face of such a situation, the young athlete confided that the way he chooses to respond is to train hard to show those people that the medal he won is well-deserved.

Before every major tournament, including the ongoing event in Cambodia, ViCòi's family always accompanies him, sending encouraging messages. The male athlete revealed that his family creates a comfortable mindset for him to compete confidently: 'In competitions, there are wins and losses, not every match can be won, so I feel quite relaxed. The thing I worry about the most is just the lag' - the young athlete said.

Currently, ViCòi and his teammates from VIE1 team are present in Cambodia, ready to compete for medals at SEA Games 32 from May 11-14 in the PUBG Mobile team event. Let's accompany and cheer for the Vietnamese representatives here!
