The Unbelievable Story of Four Young Men in Hanoi
One Month of Chicken Meals, Yet Still Fearful of Chicken After a Year
Anh Chung and his three companions still shudder at the memory of that month - every meal chicken, every day scouring every corner of Hanoi for chicken, inside and out.

Anh Chung captures memorable moments with artists Vân Dung and Xuân Bắc, alongside the New Year's feast of the Táo Quân troupe.
'After that month, we were terrified of chicken meat. That Tet, we didn't dare touch any piece of chicken, resigned to avoiding it altogether. And the whole year after, just the sight of chicken kept us at bay!'
However, a month of feasting on chicken all over Hanoi seemed futile, until the four young men finally could... well, quit the daily chicken diet after finding the perfect source supplying quality Vietnamese and crossbred Dong Cao chicken!

At last, the four young men found their 'true love' of a lifetime.
'Polishing chickens to profit', earning tens of millions a day
After securing their supply, the four young men immediately set to work preparing for the venture of 'polishing chickens to profit' in order to get rich.
And so, The Pottery was established at No. 8, Alley 97, Pham Ngoc Thach, with a slogan that would later become a legend among Hanoi's drinking circles: 'Eating well and sitting pretty? Come over here!'

The Pottery attracts a large number of office workers.
The Pottery is not just a favorite spot for students and office workers in the area, but also dubbed by Hanoi's drinking community as 'The Sành People's Drinking Spot'. Contributing to The Pottery's reputation is its pioneering role in developing the famous beef and chicken platters, now widely enjoyed across Hanoi's drinking establishments.

It's also a favorite haunt for many celebrities.
With just one chicken platter priced from 480,000 to 650,000 VND, feeding 4 to 6 people to satisfaction, the four young men easily earn tens of millions a day.
'Regardless, the Seven Course Chicken is always among the top sellers, popular in all seasons. Whenever there's a big group, they'll order either the beef or chicken platter. I feel that our month-long toil in chicken consumption wasn't in vain!' - shared Mr. Chung.

The seven dishes on the chicken platter bring seven different flavors, extracted from seven different parts of the chicken. To borrow a line from Nguyễn Du's Kiều: 'Each dish, a distinct charm, perfection in every part!'
