Have you ever encountered a situation where clicking on any software icon results in the Open With dialog appearing, even when trying to open Setup files? This could be due to a virus infecting your computer, causing explorer.exe errors. If you prefer not to reinstall Windows, you can try the following steps provided by Mytour.
Fix computer program opening errors
Step 1: Click on the Start Menu --> type Regedit in the Search Programs and Files section --> open Regedit from the Programs section.
Step 2: The Registry Editor window opens --> navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> CurrentVersion --> Explorer --> File Exts --> .lnk.
Here, you will find two main sections: OpenWithList and OpenWithProgids.
Step 3: Select the OpenWithList folder, then delete all folders in the right column except for the folder (Default) REG_SZ (value not set).
Step 4: Choose the OpenWithProgids folder, and similarly delete all folders, leaving only 2 folders: (Default) REG_SZ (value not set) and lnkfile REG_NONE (zero-length binary value).
Once completed, you simply need to Restart or Log Off (either is fine) your computer and then access your software again to see if the situation has improved.

There are various reasons for a laptop not booting, such as hardware issues, faulty power cords, or depleted battery. Depending on the cause, we will have different troubleshooting methods.
