Today, the social media giant YouTube announced new policies to protect children from abusive content on the platform.
YouTube's new policy involves restricting comments on all videos with content for young audiences. Only select new content creators are allowed to activate comments and feedback on their videos, subject to monitoring conditions and self-moderation alongside existing platform tools.
Additionally, YouTube is in the process of introducing a new comment classification system. Essentially, this classification system will carry out tasks such as reviewing comments on the platform for searching, identifying, reporting, and removing inappropriate content.
Lastly, YouTube actively encourages both viewers and content creators to participate in protecting minors by flagging content, comments, or channels that violate platform content regulations and child safety guidelines.
