YouTube unveiled some updates to its video player last Wednesday, including a chart of the most replayed sections within videos. This is an experiment on YouTube.com/new for Premium subscribers, and the company is rolling out this service to all viewers on computers and in their mobile device apps.

On the other hand, YouTube is also adding a feature called Single Loop, allowing creators to continuously loop individual videos, introducing automatically generated video playlists, and providing available video chapters to watch on various devices beyond Smart TVs and game controllers they are using.

The company reports that experiments conducted in May 2020 indicate that displaying chapters created by creators in the player increased average viewing time.

When watching videos in full-screen mode on the YouTube app, users will notice a new control panel displaying information about the video, including description, video chapters, and comments, as well as quick action buttons like like, dislike, comment, share, or add to the playlist.
