Zoom for Mac Fixes Microphone Not Turning Off After Calls

The leading video conferencing platform Zoom has just released a crucial update for its macOS application, addressing the issue of microphones not turning off after calls.

The microphone bug on Zoom for Mac emerged in December last year, according to The Register. Specifically, some Zoom users shared on the Zoom community that their Mac's microphone continued to function even after the Zoom call ended. This invisibly raised concerns about privacy, especially after the platform was fined $85 million for privacy violations in 2021.

The cause of this error is currently unknown. Zoom has confirmed that the issue in the macOS application may cause the orange microphone indicator to display even after users have left the call.
