Today, Apple rolled out the iOS 18.3 RC (Release Candidate) for developers and public beta testers.
This update comes a week after Apple introduced the third beta version, featuring significant changes to Apple's notification summary feature powered by Apple Intelligence.
iOS 18.3 RC carries the build number 22D60. This update is available for all developers and public beta testers.
Compared to the major updates of iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2, iOS 18.3 is considered a relatively minor release. However, last week, Apple shifted its focus and rolled out significant changes to the notification summary feature in response to complaints from news outlets like BBC about misinformation spread by inaccurate summaries.

To address these complaints, Apple has made several changes with iOS 18.3 beta 3:
- Apple Intelligence’s notification summary has been temporarily disabled for the News & Entertainment app category. It will return in a future software update.
- You can now disable the notification summary for a specific app directly from your iPhone's Lock Screen.
- The notification summary now uses italicized text to make it more distinguishable from regular notifications.
- When enabling the notification summary feature, Apple will clearly state that it's in beta and "may contain bugs".
Typically, iOS 18.3 RC serves as the final beta and is nearly complete before the official release, so we won’t have to wait much longer. Whether Apple plans to make further changes to the update remains to be seen.
- All the new features available in iOS 18.3 beta 3
- Review of iOS 18.2.1: Are there any bugs? How's the performance? What about battery life?
