One UI 7 is a significant update for Galaxy smartphones, offering a revamped interface and a variety of new features.
With only one day left until Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, all eyes are focused on the new products. Samsung is set to not only launch the eagerly awaited Galaxy S25 series but also introduce new Galaxy AI features alongside the major One UI 7 update. The company has been testing the software for over a month and has now revealed the update timeline for Galaxy devices.
According to a press release from Samsung in South Korea, the beta program for One UI 7 has seen the greatest success to date. The company noted that the first beta was completed twice as fast compared to One UI 6. The AI features within this update have garnered significant attention, and Samsung is working hard to improve them based on user feedback.
Samsung has confirmed that compatible Galaxy S devices will receive the One UI 7 update before March 31, 2025. However, the statement does not mention the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 series, which may leave users of these foldable devices uncertain.

Although this schedule may only apply to the South Korean market, Samsung typically follows similar timelines for global releases. As a result, users in other regions can expect the update to arrive around the same time. Samsung is also expected to announce the global update schedule during tomorrow's Galaxy Unpacked event.
The One UI 7 beta versions have offered a preview of the new features. One of the standout additions is the Now Bar, a pill-shaped control bar on the lock screen that updates in real-time, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. Users can use the Now Bar to control music, set timers, and perform other functions.

Additionally, the Quick Settings menu has been redesigned, and new app icons bring a more modern, fresh look. Other changes include an improved camera app interface and the introduction of a vertical app drawer for the first time.

The Galaxy S25 series, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, will be the first devices to ship with One UI 7.0 pre-installed. These devices will be revealed tomorrow and are expected to hit store shelves within the next two weeks. During this time, Samsung may also release the stable One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 series, followed by older Galaxy S and Galaxy Z devices.
