Qualcomm has confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will include a new 7-core version with the model number SM8750-3-AB. Previous reports indicated that the OPPO Find N5 would be the world's first foldable phone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, new information reveals that it will be the first device to adopt the 7-core version of this chip.
The OPPO Find N5 appears with the 7-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chip
According to reports, the OPPO Find N5 comes in two model numbers: PKH110 and PKH120. The PKH110 is the standard version, while the PKH120 is the variant with satellite connectivity. Currently, the PKH100 variant of the N5 has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing some key specifications.

Geekbench listings show the Find N5 running on the 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. While the standard model of this OPPO device uses this 7-core version, it remains unclear whether the satellite connectivity variant will feature the 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
The Geekbench results for the OPPO Find N5 reveal that the device is equipped with 16 GB of RAM and runs Android 15. In single-core tests, it scored 2948 and 3083 points, while multi-core tests yielded scores of 8196 and 8865. The multi-core scores are approximately 1000 points lower than those of the typical Snapdragon 8 Elite, likely due to the absence of one core in the new chip.
Although benchmark scores offer a general sense of performance, they don't always reflect real-world usage. For everyday tasks, the missing core on the OPPO Find N5 might not make a noticeable difference. Modern chips are designed to handle multitasking efficiently, and most apps don't fully utilize all cores at the same time.

However, for intensive tasks like gaming or heavy multitasking, the difference could become more apparent. The eight-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite might offer a slight advantage, allowing the device to run more smoothly and achieve higher frame rates in games.
The OPPO Find N5 is expected to be launched in China in February 2025. It is rumored that this device will be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in certain regions such as the United States, Europe, and India.
