One UI 7 will bring numerous valuable features, offering a significant upgrade (illustrated image).Samsung is ready to unveil the much-awaited Galaxy S25 series. This event will not only introduce the S25 models but also announce new features of Galaxy AI, alongside the long-awaited One UI 7 update.
One UI 7 Release Date
Samsung has been testing the upcoming major software update, One UI 7, for over a month and has now officially revealed the update schedule for compatible Galaxy devices.
In a press statement from Samsung Korea, the company stated that the One UI 7 beta program is their most successful beta test to date. The first beta phase was completed in half the time it took for One UI 6.
More importantly, Samsung has confirmed that all compatible Galaxy S devices will receive One UI 7 by the end of Q1 2025, which means no later than March 31, 2025. Notably, the statement did not mention the latest foldable flagship models, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Note that this timeline may only apply to the South Korean market. However, Samsung generally follows a similar update schedule globally, so users in other regions can also expect the update around the same time.
An official announcement regarding the detailed update schedule for all Galaxy models is likely to be made during tomorrow's Galaxy Unpacked event.
New Features in One UI 7
Beta releases have revealed several new features in One UI 7. One of these is the Now Bar, a pill-shaped dynamic bar on the lock screen, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. The Now Bar allows users to control music, set timers, and access various other features.
The update also introduces a redesigned Quick Settings panel and new app icons. Additionally, the operating system features several subtle interface changes, including an improved camera app interface and, for the first time, a vertical app drawer.
