7. Quang Dũng
Singer Quang Dũng, born Thái Văn Dũng on August 8, 1975, in Bình Định, is a well-known Vietnamese singer who excels in light music, ballads, pre-war music, and the works of Trịnh Công Sơn. With his gentle, deep voice, he is one of the few male singers successful in performing Trịnh Công Sơn’s compositions and has received five nominations for the Cống Hiến Awards.
Quang Dũng began his singing career at the age of 19. From the moment he discovered his passion and talent, he worked hard and won several music awards in his hometown. In 1997, he participated in the Tiếng hát Truyền hình contest in Bình Định and won second place. Although he performed in music clubs, he initially pursued singing for personal passion rather than as a professional career. In 2003, he won the Mai Vàng Award for the song "Vì đó là em" by composer Diệu Hương. This recognition marked his first major acknowledgment from the public. His debut album, featuring the title track "Biển nghìn thu ở lại," was composed by Trịnh Công Sơn specifically for him. 8. Trúc Nhân
Trúc Nhân, whose real name is Nguyễn Trúc Nhân, was born on November 30, 1991, in Bình Định, Vietnam. He is a male singer known for his participation in the first season of the Vietnamese television show The Voice. Over the course of his career, he has won the prestigious Cống hiến Award three times.
Trúc Nhân competed in The Voice Vietnam in 2012 as a contestant on coach Thu Minh’s team, where he reached the Top 8. This marked the start of his professional career as a singer. Following the show, he released a mini album titled Đông, which included popular songs such as Gió mùa về, Mercy, and Đông. His work received great support from his mentor, coach Thu Minh, music producer Nguyễn Hải Phong, and various other musicians. After collaborating with singer Văn Mai Hương on the song "Tìm," Trúc Nhân worked with Trương Thảo Nhi on the song "Bốn chữ lắm." This track became special for both artists, as its music video was shot using just a mobile phone. In 2015, Trúc Nhân released the song Muốn khóc thật to, followed by the track Ngồi hát đỡ buồn in 2017, a song composed by Nguyễn Hải Phong for the soundtrack of the film "Cô gái đến từ hôm qua." In April 2019, he released the moving song "Lớn rồi còn khóc nhè," a beautiful ode to motherly love, written by Nguyễn Hải Phong. In August 2019, he debuted the song "Sáng mắt chưa?" which addresses LGBTQ love, showcasing creativity both in lyrics and music video.
