1. Search Within Settings
On your iPhone, you can search for apps, contacts, and content within apps like Mail, Messages, and Photos. You can even extract text from images using Live Text. You can also check stock and currency information, perform calculations, and convert units. Searching allows you to find websites, open apps, and locate photos in your photo library, system, or online. Results are displayed in a full-screen scrollable window with rich content, including contacts, musicians, artists, TV shows, movies, businesses, sports teams, and leagues.
Under Settings > Siri & Search, you can choose which apps appear in search results. The search feature provides suggestions based on your app usage and updates results as you type. With iOS 9 and later, users can directly search for a specific setting by typing keywords into the search bar, instead of wasting time scrolling through Settings to find what they need. This feature saves a lot of time while using your iPhone.

2. Capture Photos While Recording Videos and Record Videos with Background Music
If you want to capture a moment while recording a video on your iPhone without stopping the video, simply tap the photo button that appears on the screen. The photo will automatically save to your photo library without interrupting the video recording.
If you often try recording videos while music from Spotify or Apple Music plays in the background, you'll notice the music stops once you start recording. However, there's a smart trick for iPhones to get around this limitation. After playing a song from Spotify or Apple Music, open the Camera app. Instead of switching to video mode, simply tap the white photo button and swipe it to the right. Your iPhone will start recording while the background music continues to play.

3. Tap to Scroll to the Top
If you're scrolling through a long list in Notes, drowning in old emails, or scrolling down through your Facebook Newsfeed and want to quickly jump back to the top, simply tap the very top of your iPhone screen. This action will automatically take you back to the top of the page, without having to manually drag the screen up. This trick works in almost every app on your iPhone.
This is an old but genuinely useful iPhone hack. Whether you're in an app or browsing a webpage in Safari, you can quickly scroll to the top by tapping the area right below the notch. This is especially handy when you want to return to the top of your photo library in the Photos app.

4. Share Your Current Location with Friends
Just like Google Maps, your iPhone comes with Apple Maps, which allows you to quickly share your current location. To share your location using Apple Maps, follow these steps: Step 1: Open Maps > Tap on the blue dot (your location), or if you can't see it, tap the arrow icon (top right) to find your current location > Select 'Share My Location'. Step 2: You can share it via AirDrop, Messages, Facebook Messenger, etc. > Choose the recipient.
You can also share your location with someone in your Contacts by: Going to Contacts > Selecting the person you want to share with > Tapping on their contact > Scrolling down and choosing 'Share My Location' > Selecting how long you want to share (Share for One Hour, Until the End of the Day, or Share Indefinitely). If you're using popular messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, Zalo, or Line, you can also share your current location directly through those apps.

5. Use the Apple Logo on the Back as a Hard Button
With iOS 14, Apple introduced a feature that allows users to double or triple tap the back of their iPhone to trigger a specific action. Whether you want to mute your phone or even take a screenshot, the back tap feature makes it easier than ever.
To enable this feature, first go to Settings > Accessibility. Then, navigate to Physical and Motor > Touch. Scroll down until you see the 'Back Tap' option. After that, you can choose between Double Tap or Triple Tap and select the action you'd like to trigger with a back tap.

6. Handy Tips for Text Messages
If you're too lazy to unlock your screen and open the Messages app to reply to a text message, simply swipe the message notification from left to right on your lock screen and tap 'Reply'. This lets you quickly respond without unlocking your iPhone. You can also easily forward a text by double-tapping the message you want to forward and selecting 'More'. From there, you can edit the message and add a new recipient in the 'To' field.
If you're typing a message and suddenly want to undo what you've written or change the entire content, just shake your iPhone, and the 'Undo Typing' option will appear. Tap 'Undo', and the text will be erased. Want to recover what you just deleted? Shake your phone again and select 'Redo' to restore the message you were typing. Many new iPhone users struggle to find out when their message was sent. It's actually quite simple—just swipe the message to the left, and the time of sending will appear.

7. Save Battery by Enabling Grayscale Mode
For phones with OLED and AMOLED screens, dark mode can significantly save battery life. However, for devices with LCD screens, dark mode has little to no impact on battery performance. This means that enabling dark mode on an LCD screen won't help conserve battery power.
Enabling grayscale mode on your phone can help break your smartphone addiction since you'll likely lose interest in a screen that's limited to boring black and white colors. It can also help you relax after too much screen time, and of course, it saves battery. Your iPhone can switch to grayscale mode with just a few simple steps. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Grayscale, and that's it. You'll have saved a good amount of battery in case you're caught without a charger.

8. Adjust Brightness While Taking Photos and Capture in Burst Mode
To adjust the brightness and focus, simply tap anywhere on the screen. Then, slide your finger up or down to increase or decrease the brightness of that area. It's that easy! Your iPhone allows you to quickly adjust the brightness by tapping on the focus point on your screen. A square with a lightbulb icon will appear. Swipe the icon upward to brighten the photo or swipe downward to reduce the brightness.
If you're capturing fast-moving subjects (such as during sports or running), you may want to take burst photos to choose the best shot. Apple has built a burst mode into iPhones, allowing you to capture 10 frames per second. To use it, just press and hold the shutter button in the Camera app, and the iPhone will take photos continuously until you release your finger.
